Our Team

DaSH builds upon the University of Aberdeen's well-established reputation for data management in data linkage research, pioneered by the Digital Research Team led by Katie Wilde. Our team brings together a diverse range of expertise, including clinical, technical, project management, research coordination, data analysis, and information governance management, to ensure the highest standards of data security and confidentiality.

This allows us to empower researchers and industry partners to conduct groundbreaking research that impacts healthcare not just in Grampian and the UK, but across the globe.

Antonietta Chaliou

As a Research Coordinator, Antonietta supports researchers throughout their projects, including essential aspects like permissions, training, data confidentiality, and output releases. She discovered her interest in research while undertaking her MA in School Counselling and Guidance, which led her to complete her PhD in Psychology at the University of Aberdeen in 2023.

Jarek Dymiter

Jaroslaw Dymiter, also known as Jarek, joined DaSH as a programmer and analyst in 2020 and initially worked on the multi-award winning iCAIRD programme. With a background in multimedia development, learning technology and data science, he's been working for the University since 2016 as a learning technologist and an eLearning adviser. His great interest in cybernetics, information and systems theory led him to obtain MSc in Data Science and become a member of the DaSH team working mainly on data extractions utilising tools such as SQL, R and PowerShell.

Amal Sebastian

As a Junior Analyst, Amal helps to facilitate research by extracting and pseudonymising data for secure access in the Safe Haven, ultimately supporting advances in health resarch and outcomes. Amal achieved his BCA in Cloud Computing at Bangalore University, before completing his MSc in Data Science at the University of Aberdeen. Prior to joining DaSH, Amal also worked as a Data Analyst in the Information Technology sector.

Charlotte Murray

As the Administrator for the DaSH team, Charlotte provides support with finance, ogranising and minuting meetings, booking travel, assisting with recruitment and much more. Charlotte part-time DaSH, spending the rest of her working week as a Research Assistant on and NHS Scotland audit, reviewing those who no longer attend cervical screening. After completing her MA in Psychology, Charlotte obtained her MSc in Health Psychology in 2020.

Gary Cooper

Gary is the Information Security Manager for DaSH, as well as being the Quality Manager for ISO 9001:2018-certified Rowett Research Institute. Gary is a former member of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional (MCQI CQP), and a former IRCA Registered Lead Auditor with extensive supplier and service provider auditing experience for both the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device sectors.
