Overview

Interpretation of the surface geology of regions using geological maps and landforms using satellite and other remote sensing data. Cross-section construction. Introduction to the structural interpretation of seismic data. The main styles of deformation structures, faults, folds and distributed distortional strain and their analysis. 3D structural analysis using stereographic projections. Simple kinematic approaches, relationships and deformation structures to tectonics and their importance for the structure of the crust and its sedimentary basins.
