Pre-requisites
Normally FR 1015 but may also be taken i) by students who have studied French for at least 3 years and pass a diagnostic test at an appropriate level; ii) by students who have failed FR 1015.
Notes
This course may NOT be included as part of a graduating curriculum with FR 1507.
Overview
This is a continuation of FR 1015 and aims to bring students up to a level of competence which will enable them to proceed to level 2 French. By the end of the course, students should be able to understand authentic spoken and written French, and to express themselves in speech and writing with a reasonable degree of facility and accuracy.
Structure
4 tutorials per week.
Assessment
1st Attempt: 1 two-hour written examination (60%), 1 oral examination (20%) and in-course assessment: 4 linguistic exercises (20%).
Resit: 1 two-hour written examination (80%) and 1 oral examination (20%).
