Overview
Mechanical testing of materials; properties of metals and alloys; synthesis and properties of ceramics; polymers, composite materials, biomaterials and offshore materials. Corrosive, electrical, thermal, magnetic, mechanical and optical properties of the materials will be discussed.
Structure
2 one-hour lectures weekly, 6 one-hour tutorials and 18 hours in total of laboratory classes.
Assessment
1st Attempt: 1 two-hour examination (70%) and in-course assessment.
Resit: 1 two-hour examination (70%) and in-course assessment (30%).
