Overview


The course details aspects of chemotherapy; including antibiotics; antiviral agents; cancer chemotherapy and drug resistance; mechanisms of carcinogenesis; the roles of mediators of inflammation and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Structure

6 week course - 3 one-hour lectures per week, 1 one-hour seminar, 1 eight hour laboratory session.

Assessment

1st Attempt: 1 ninety-minute written examination paper (75%) and in-course assessment - 1 laboratory report (10%), 1 1000 word essay (10%), one multiple choice assessment (5%).

Resit: written examination (100%).
