Overview

This course is intended for students with no previous knowledge of Portuguese. It aims to develop basic communicative skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing and to establish a sound foundation in the structure of the language. A programme of self-study in the Language Centre accompanies the three weekly contact hours.

3 tutorials per week.
1 two-hour written examination (60%) and continuous assessment (40%) (directed at oral skills).
