First Term
The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the fundamentals of management and the internal structure of organisations. The course also aims to begin to prepare you with the skills identified as essential by employers.

Second Term
The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the external global context in which businesses operate. The specific learning objectives of the course are to explore the political, economic, sociocultural, technological, ethical and market influences on business, and how businesses interact to the global environment through innovation, strategy, operations and marketing. This will be approached through four themes:

First Term
The course seeks to introduce students to the principles and practice of marketing. To this end, provides an understanding of the fundamentals of marketing, marketing planning and strategy, customer value and critical marketing.

Second Term
The course seeks to equip students with the knowledge to understand what strategy is, how it is formulated and implemented in organisations, and what tools and models you can use to support your strategic decision-making.

First Term
The Course critically explores Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), tracing its historical origins through to current practice within organisations and the impact on the wider world. It discusses ethical theories and examines the basic concepts underlying virtue ethics. The Course examines areas of ethical business relationships (employer and employee relationships, business and consumer, business and community, business and environment).
