Course Overview

Level 4 module 1

This is the final part of the e pre-sessional programme that helps international students meet their language conditions prior to going on to their UG/PG programmes.  Level 4 takes students from B2 -C1. Level 4 is divided into two five week modules. This first module is a formative module. It allows students to practice key skills and assessment tasks before the final assessments in module 2

1 x assessed seminar: Students are put into small groups.  Prior to the seminar, each student within the group is given individual information which they must assess in relation to the seminar task. During the seminar students present the information that they have researched and this information is used to complete the seminar task.

There is no resit option for this course as students do not need to pass level 4 module 1 in order to progress to level 4 module 2. The course provides formative feedback to students about the skills that they need to develop in order to meet the language requirements. Where students do not meet the projected target exit points for certain skills, they are given additional support to develop those skills.
