As part of the PGDE (Primary) programme, this professional placement provides an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge of issues in Scottish Education and pedagogical theory in a practical context within Upper Stages of Primary School.

Course Description

Students will gradually build responsibility for teaching, learning and assessing though initially observing in the classroom context. With support they will then begin to gradually plan, implement and reflect on learning and teaching across the curriculum. The development of professional practice will be supported by engagement with policy, professional dialogue and enquiry.

If a student received an overall unsatisfactory report in SE1A a Co-tutor  observation will be required in addition to the school report in weeks 16 & 17. A  co-tutor observation would also be generated for SE1B if a Cause for Concern (CFC) form was submitted by the school during SE1B.
