This course develops the essential knowledge required for the understanding of ceramic, polymer and composite restorations. These tooth coloured materials are the standard aesthetic components for Fixed Prosthodontic restorations.

The course introduces the student to the theory and practice of manufacturing single, tooth coloured restorations. The materials of Porcelain, Composite, Zirconia and Lithium Di-silicate; for the aesthetic components of crowns and bridgework; are taught and demonstrated. Computer aided design computer aided manufacturing (CADCAM) techniques are introduced to complement the traditional manufacturing methods.
