Course Overview

This is a course for developing practical translation skills from Chinese to English and English to Chinese. It also considers theoretical concepts associated with Translation Studies and China’s translation history.

Course Description

This course aims to improve students’ Chinese language competence and translation skills. This course also studies concepts of Translation Studies and helps students gain a general understanding of China’s translation history. Through hands-on practice and class discussions, students are taught different strategies for dealing with different styles of texts and translation situations.
