This is an intensive two-week course in Philosophy, designed to introduce visiting international students to the Western Analytic Tradition in Philosophy. Additionally, the course will allow these students to experience academic life in Aberdeen supported by staff from Aberdeen and from their home institution. There will also be a programme of social events allowing students to engage with Scottish culture and history.

On this course visiting international students will be able to experience academic and culture life in the UK whilst learning about core issues in contemporary Western Analytic Philosophy.
In the classroom students will be introduced to debates in Ethics and Epistemology, and will engage with and reflect on standard methods in contemporary analytic Philosophy used to address these issues. In the classroom students will be guided by Aberdeen Philosophy staff, staff from their home institution, and Aberdeen Philosophy students. Students will have 3 hours of classroom time a day, and some guided independent learning.
Students will also be able to engage in a variety of cultural activities, introducing them to Scottish culture and history through a variety of events – including social events and tours of Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Edinburgh.
It is hoped that this course will also serve as a springboard for further institutional collaboration between Aberdeen and International Partner Institutions.
