Course Overview

By participating in on-campus workshops and completing a range of reflective assessments, students gain professional development and enhance their employability.

Students engage in external, work-related activities in placements that they secure, typically over the summer months but it can be during the academic year, as well.

External engagement activities require the approval from the student’s academic School.

Course Description

This innovative course is structured for students to secure their own placement, part-time work or personal development project which is approved by their academic School. The course is structured to encourage students to reflect on their personal and professional development and to make connections between their degree programme and the world of work. The course will give students an opportunity to assess their Aberdeen Graduate Attribute development and enable them to identify and evidence a range of skills and qualities that employers look for in graduates, including communication, team working, problem-solving, reflection and professionalism.
