Study on this course will support a further four-week block placement in Developing Professional Practice 1 in the same setting as first semester. Students will continue to build on previous study of development and learning, specifically developmental psychology (attachment theory) and how their knowledge and understanding of this theory might impact on and inform classroom practice. Students will also develop a more detailed knowledge of how to assess young children’s learning, developing skills in use of observation techniques to assess learning and inform planning. Students will consolidate their knowledge and understanding of enquiry skills for a target child study.
