This innovative course is designed to promote students personal development and enhance their employability skills through undertaking a group consultancy project for a local engineering organisation. The course will enable students to learn more about the engineering sector, and develop their project management skills, students will also have the opportunity to reflect on learning to better equip them for future employment or postgraduate study.

This course is designed with the support of employers to provide students with the opportunity to undertake a group consultancy project for a local engineering organisation. The course enables students to practice key career and project management skills, most notably team work, project management, negotiation, action planning and communication. For this course, projects were sought from high calibre companies such as Subsea 7, Wood, CNR International and Halliburton.
During the course students are supported to undertake their project work via a series of on-campus workshops delivered by academic staff, external organisations and the Careers Service, topics include Giving a Presentation, Introduction to the Business Model and group work skills. Students will also be given the opportunity to network with employers on the course and undertake site visits.

Students will receive written, oral, peer feedback durig the course. All summative assessments will be marked agains the eassessment criteria and students will be provided with constructive written feedback for each assignment. |
