This course continues on from the previous courses on Fixed Prosthodontics. The theory and practice of bridgework, where multiple teeth are manufactured together in a restoration, are taught, demonstrated and applied. Previous theories and applications of associated biomaterials and techniques are developed for this more advanced course. It concludes the teaching of Fixed Prosthodontics.

This course explains the theoretical and practical component of the laboratory manufacture of bridge type restorations. Students are provided with the theory of dental procedures in materials and processes used for these fixed Prosthodontics. This course forms the foundation for knowledge of this subject. Students will demonstrate this knowledge in the laboratory manufacture of restorations provided under prescription to patients of client clinicians.
This course fulfils the requirements for the Government Skills for Health National Occupational Standards for Dental Technology.
