This course aims to provide students with relevant competencies and skills in the use of English for academic purposes, to critically engage with reading and listening material, and to develop skills for analysis and critical assessment

On completion of the course students will:
- Be able to comprehend text at sentence, paragraph and text level
- Identify key information in listening and reading texts
- Be aware of academic conventions and guidelines and apply them to outputs
- Extract, synthesise and analyse information from a range of sources and formulate responses to specific question
- Research, develop and deliver a presentation
- Produce written work which is well organised, relevant and uses appropriate terminology
