This course will introduce students to learning and teaching in music education contexts. Through reflection and practical engagement, students will begin to develop a range of skills essential for teaching in the secondary school.

This course will begin to develop knowledge and understanding of how children and young people learn. Students will begin to develop capacities and practical skills that enable them to prepare, plan, and implement learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation of learners.

Formative feedback will be ongoing throughout the field experience and self-reflection and collaborative peer discussion will be encouraged throughout the course. Summative feedback from the essay will be timely in order to ensure that students have the opportunity to use this in order to think about next steps in their development. |
