Course Overview

This course provides an intensive introduction to the Spanish language for students with little or no previous knowledge of Spanish. It concentrates on the four basic language skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension. Students attend 2 lectures and 1 grammar seminar per week and attend a further tutorial focusing on spoken Spanish. Students are also required to pursue private study and to submit regular written work

Course Description

This introductory language course suitable for students with no or very little knowledge of Spanish.

This course provides an intensive introduction to the Spanish language for students with little or no previous knowledge of Spanish. It concentrates on the four basic language skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension. Students attend 2 lectures and 1 grammar seminar per week and attend a further tutorial focusing on spoken Spanish. Students are also required to pursue private study and to submit regular written work

As far as possible, the course content will be tailored to meet the specific linguistic demands of medical students e.g. doctor-patient interactions; describing parts of the body etc.

Students with Higher or A Level or native speakers are not eligible to take this course if unsure contact Course coordinator
