Course Overview

  • this course will teach you what we know about anatomy of different parts of human body and how it relates to development, various injuries and disorders; 
  • you'll get a chance to work with prosected human cadaveric specimens and medical images such as MRI scans; 
  • course will increase your practical skills, improve your problem-solving and image interpretation skills, and help you understand why fundamental anatomy and imaging are important to understanding human health & disease; 
  • this course will focus on the anatomy of the back, upper & lower limbs, thorax and abdomen;
  • learning is facilitated by videos and 3D anatomy resources on MyAberdeen

Course Description

The course is practical based and thus consists of student led group work centred on pro-sections of cadavers and a workbook that is handed out at the beginning of the course. Other resources used are anatomical models and interactive learning resources on MyAberdeen. The course concentrates on the study of the locomotor system (limbs and back) and the respiratory, alimentary, cardiovascular and nervous systems as they are arrayed in the thorax and abdomen.
