Course Overview

This course extends and refines students' practical translation skills from English into Spanish and Spanish into English. It will also enable students to think critically about linguistic and cultural issues associated with translation from English into Spanish and Spanish into English.

Course Description

Students will translate texts on a variety of topics using a variety of discourses. They will be able to discuss, analyse and apply different translation strategies.

Summative Assessments

Translation English-Spanish (350 words) x 2: 10% each

Translation Spanish-English (350 words) x 2: 10% each

Written Exam (2 hours): 60%
