This course is open only to Single Honours students of French currently completing the third year of a four-year programme and fulfilling their residence abroad requirements in a French-speaking country. This is a correspondence course. It runs over the second half-session.

The course aims to encourage students to examine critically issues relating to the cultural, political, economic and social environment in which they are living during their period of study or work abroad, and thus to gain a better understanding of those issues by engaging directly with them through the media and personal research. This will extend their cultural and linguistic awareness and provide them with an opportunity to conduct their own research.
