Course Description

This course encourages autonomy, independent thought, negotiation, planning and management skills. Students negotiate their learning outcomes and goals based on learning priorities. On completion they evaluate whether their learning outcomes have been met and evaluate their own learning.

Students are supported by a tutor and, where appropriate, other class members.

Further Information & Notes

Assessment is by a 3000 word report or equivalent. It is a 15 credit SQCF level 8 distance learning course, although there is a requirement to attend some face-to-face and online workshops.

To undertake this course participants ideally should be employed in a relevant professional context or be able to access one. Voluntary work is acceptable. Contact the course co-ordinator if in doubt about suitability for access.

Summative Assessments

1st Attempt: 1 assignment (100%) comprising a 3,000 word report.

Resit: Resubmission of failed criteria within the Assignment (100%).

Formative Assessment

Formative feedback will be available to participants in tutorial sessions, and also for early part draft assignment work.

Feedback

Formative feedback will be provided to participants verbally during tutorials, or by email correspondence.
Summative feedback will be provided in writing as a pdf file sent by email.
