The first part of the course is concerned with water pollution and main aspects of public health engineering. The following topics are covered: water quality characteristics, water supply and treatment, sources of water pollution and modelling of their impacts on aqueous environment, and a comprehensive study of wastewater treatment technologies.
In the second part of the course, sustainable environmental management is introduced, including management of: groundwater and solid waste.
The third part of the course provides an introduction to air pollution and control. It includes sources and effects of local and global air pollution and air pollution control technologies.

1st Attempt: 1 three-hour written examination paper (90%); continuous assessment (class test) (10%).
Class test will be conducted in the middle of session.
