By learning Arabic you will have the opportunity to travel, work and gain experience in around 22 Arab countries. Arabic is one of the 6 official UN languages. Some Arab countries have been residing on top of the list of top employers in the World.
Learning Arabic would give you higher chances of obtaining Middle East related jobs such as in media, diplomacy or business. It will also increase chances of obtaining jobs in your own field of expertise in one of the Arab countries.

This course will introduce students to Arabic speaking, listening, reading and writing. The emphasis will be on speaking and listening and particularly on the pronunciation of sounds and symbols unfamiliar to non-native Arabic speakers. Students will first learn to understand and express themselves in basic role play and dialogue and gradually move on to familiarize themselves with written Arabic.
Please note, this course is designed for absolute beginners in Arabic and is not available to native speakers.
Students with prior knowledge of Arabic will take a diagnostic test in the first teaching week. The diagnostic test is to determine your level of Arabic so that we can ensure you are registered for the course that is most appropriate for your level of knowledge.

Two formative assessments of different aspects of written Arabic language, and one formative assessment of oral Arabic language.
The above assessments are given CGS marks, and written or verbal feedback is also given. Additional informal feedback on performance is also given in both written language classes and oral/aural classes.
