It provides an overview of the nature and value of, and threats to, biodiversity and details the problems faced by small populations of plants and animals. Whilst focusing upon scientific aspects of conservation biology, this inter-disciplinary course covers the legislative, ethical, economic and management frameworks in which practical conservation action is taken.
