Building on Arabic for Beginners I (AR1002), students will continue their introduction to Arabic speaking, listening, reading and writing. There will be continued emphasis on pronunciation, speaking and listening and students will learn to understand and express themselves in basic role play and dialogue. Students will also improve their facility with written Arabic and brief reading comprehension passages and translation exercises will be introduced with a focus on intercultural competence.

Students with prior knowledge of Arabic might be requested to take a diagnostic test in the first teaching week. The diagnostic test is to determine your level of Arabic so that we can ensure you are registered for the course that is most appropriate for your level of knowledge.
