Course Overview

This course examines international property markets and institutions from the perspectives of users, investors and real estate service providers. The course incorporates the study of specific national markets and is focused primarily on the regions of Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The course includes field study and the completion of a strategic investment report pertaining to a major UK property market.

Details, including assessments, may be subject to change until 30 August 2024 for 1st term courses and 20 December 2024 for 2nd term courses.

Summative Assessments

1st Attempt: 1 two-hour written examination (60%). Two pieces of in-course assessment, comprising an essay (20%) and a report (20%), each of which is 2,000 words.

Resit: 1 two-hour written examination (100%).

Formative Assessment

This will take place through tutorial discussions and exercises to be attempted in advance.

Feedback

Students will receive individual written feedback on their written coursework.

They will also receive outline answers to selected practice exercises as well as verbal feedback in the course of tutorial discussions.
