Course Description

Course Aims

The course will develop the employability of students through engaging them in their development of Aberdeen Graduate Attributes through the co-curriculum. The course will introduce students to the concepts and importance of health and safety and equality and diversity awareness.

Main Learning Outcomes

The course will comprise overall topic learning outcomes to enable students to:
1) Understand the concept of Aberdeen Graduate Attributes and how they can be developed through engagement in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
2) Understand the concept of equality and diversity and how it affects themselves and others.
3) Understand and implement health and safety guidelines, policies and procedures.

The course consists of the following 3 topics:
1) Developing your Aberdeen Graduate Attributes
2) Understanding equality and diversity issues
3) Health and safety for students

Summative Assessments

Given there are no credits for the course, there are no summative assessments.

Formative Assessment

Students will complete a series of online activities and tests with two attempts and automated feedback and resources given if the standard is not met.

Feedback

Automated written feedback is provided following two unsuccessful attempts at the tests. Feedback includes the correct answers and detailed explanations about each question and corresponding answer. Further resources are given.
