This course examines particular topics of EU Law, which may vary from year to year. Topics covered include EU Citizenship, Human Rights and EU Law including article 6 and 8 of the ECHR.

Course Description

Course Aims: The aims of the course are to provide the students with a critical knowledge and understanding of the selected areas of EU Substantive Law. Main Learning Outcomes: The aims of the course are to provide the students with a critical knowledge and understanding of the selected areas of EU Substantive Law. Content: This course will critically evaluate the principles of the law of citizenship, human rights and EU Law and some articles of the ECHR.

Summative Assessments

1st Attempt: One three-hour examination (100%). Resit: Normally, no resit is available.

Formative Assessment

One non-counting essay up to 2,500 words for LS 4545 and LX 4545, an additional non-counting essay 1,000 words for LX 4545. Students may choose to do their essay on any one of the seminar topics.
