The Recognition of Experiential Learning through Professional Practice Course asks student to consider learning from all aspects of their life which relates to their professional development and to demonstrate that through academic writing and personal evidence. The course is assessed by a 2000 word written assignment and the production of a portfolio for credit. It is a 15 credit level 9 course and the portfolio is assessed separately for credit on the BA in Professional Development.
To undertake this course participants ideally should be employed in a relevant professional context or be able to access one. Voluntary work is acceptable. Contact the course co-ordinator if in doubt about suitability for access.
Information on contact teaching time is available from the course guide.
1st Attempt: Presentation of a justified portfolio of evidence of learning including a plan for future study.
A critically reflective report of 2,000 words on the significance of their learning for professional development.
Please note: Both parts of the assignment are required to complete the course and to gain the 15 credits.
The portfolio will be presented for credit on the BAPD (or other programme as required) and assessed separately.
A CASS mark will be given on the report only.
