This course encourages you to consider how hazard and risk can be managed, particularly in relation to your own personal and professional circumstances. You will examine the risk management process and each part of the process in some detail enabling you to increase your knowledge and understanding of hazard and risk management techniques.

The Responding to Hazard and Risk Course will engage you in peer work and independent study allowing you to complete a report and reflective account on responding to hazard and risk in your own professional context. The course is a 15 credit level 9 course that is done mostly online but can be done on campus if there are enough participants. Participants are required to attend an induction.
To undertake this course participants ideally should be employed in a relevant professional context or be able to access one. Voluntary work is acceptable. It is recommended that course ED3082 is done before this course. Contact the course co-ordinator if in doubt about suitability for access.

Formative assessment will be done throughout the course, done both verbally and in written format. Formative asessment will be done during the workshops and through discussion. Written formative work will be given appropriate written feedback.
