The focus of this course is the further development of participants’ counselling skills. It will give those who have completed Counselling Skills 1 – 4 (COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate or equivalent) the opportunity to reconnect with their previous learning and experience and update their practice and understanding of counselling skills. It will also assist participants to further deepen and develop their knowledge of counselling skills.

This course may not be suitable for anyone who
is currently receiving Counselling
or has faced a serious emotional issue in the last six months.
Class size is limited to 15. You must be able to attend the same
class at the same time over 10 weeks .There is a strict attendance
requirement of at least 85% . If you miss more than two 3 Hr classes for any
reason you cannot pass the course.
As an undergraduate student you do not pay
tuition fees but will be required to pay the COSCA materials fee of £30 at the
online store before the first class and before your
workbook will be issued. You will also be required to pay £10.00 at the online store for your COSCA certificate
Your class may include part-time students of all ages.

1st Attempt: Assessment will be through continuous assessment (presentation of transcript and analysis (25%), learning log 300-500 words weekly (25%) and oral assessment (50%)). Resit: Transcript of Counselling skills practice and analysis (2000 words). No resit is offered for the learning logs and oral assessment. Fail of this element requires a repeat of the course.
