Course Overview

To get a "hands on" experience in conducting a literature review on a public health topic for 3 months. Students will identify a particular Public Health issue and systematically search the literature using electronic bibliographic databases, critically appraise and synthesize research evidence on the topic.

Course Description

During the time of conducting the literature review, students will build on the taught courses in Stages 1 and 2, which covers the core PH elements. Students will learn a logical way of approaching a research question and methodically work towards identifying methodology to answer the question. This is a transferable skill for any research. This project will be supervised by two experts, both in topic area and methodology. Literature review can be conducted in a work place setting such as NHS or within a research unit
