This course provides a broad introduction to techniques for engineering secure information systems. In addition to developing critical knowledge of the theories, principles and concepts associated with information security and systems, this course will enhance your understanding of core topics such as access control, authentication, cryptography and secure communication. It will touch on cross-cutting issues such as security policy, security management and usable security. It will look at applications of these ideas in specific domains, for example network security, web security and malware.
