Course Overview

Advanced Business Consulting is a continuation of Introduction to Business Consulting. This course will introduce students to the work processes of business consultants and identify the competencies students will require to apply for a career in consultancy. The course involves site visits to consultant/client offices to see first-hand the consultancy practice. The course covers both theoretical as well as practical aspects of business consultancy with a focus on real business consulting exposure.

Course Description

The Advanced Business Consultancy course will cover a range of topics that will be delivered multiple methods including lectures, guest talks, case-based assessments, site visits and the Harvard Business School consulting simulations software packages.

The course is aimed at those with career aspirations to join a consulting firm, run their own consulting business or interested to develop their business and psychology skills and knowledge. The course will continue the learning from the Introduction to Business Consulting course and extend the understanding of management consultancy and introduce advanced analysis tools and frameworks used by professional business consultants. Course syllabus will cover topics such as business report writing, professional presentation skills, contemporary issues in the consulting industry, taking a client brief, managing a consulting team, building a career as a professional consultant etc.

Completion of this course will help students to develop their skills, confidence and knowledge of business consulting sector and help students with their personal and professional development.
