This course includes a data collection, computational or theoretical component, whereby students will perform the methodological and data-analysis components of a research project defined in Project Part 1 - Medical Physics. Students will work with an expert in the field to complete the aims of their project.

This course comprises a research project, lasting approximately 12 weeks (including write-up time). The project is intended to encourage development of interest in a particular aspect of the overall field of study. The student will also develop an understanding of research methods and skills including planning a work schedule, organisation of a working routine, and data collection and analysis techniques. Other transferrable skills that will be developed include initiative and independent thought by the student as well as the communication skills required for production of a thesis and for delivery of a poster presentation on the project.
