The MSc dissertation provides students with the opportunity to produce a piece of independent and original research on an approved topic in business and psychology. Advanced level knowledge of a sub-area of the discipline is developed through independent study supervised by a member of academic staff. Students can choose a research problem related to change management and explore it further using theoretical and practical knowledge gained throughput the programme.

The dissertation is a combination of sound academic underpinning and practical application. Through independent study, and in consultation with their supervisor, students will be able to reflect on, and learn, integrate new knowledge and apply it in the context of business consultancy. Each dissertation will be mentored by a qualified supervisor.
Students will first identify a research problem and discuss this with the course coordinator. Upon approval, a supervisor will be assigned to each student. Students will then use primary and secondary research methodologies, with support from their supervisor, to further explore the research problem through research design, data collection, analysis, synthesis and produce recommendations.
