Course Overview

This course aims to critically analyse the major organisational and external contexts within which organisations operate across the range of business sectors in which Human Resource professionals work.  Course members will evaluate the impact of the business environment and a range of stakeholders on organisation’s choices and strategies.

Course Description

The module is being taught in block workshops, there will be input from the tutors but much of your learning will come from individual and group tasks and the discussion of points arising from these. To maximise your learning you will need to fully contribute to the workshops and get involved in these sessions. Students will need to apply their knowledge within varying organisational contexts and to review and evaluate contemporary literature / research, students will discuss approaches used in known organisations.  There will be an expectation of your undertaking work between each block delivery session to consolidate learning and develop depth of knowledge in the syllabus areas.
Materials will be posted on My Aberdeent hroughout the course.  It is also important that students also check their email regularly.  My Aberdeen supports class discussions and workshops but the course requires full attendance at class.
