Course Overview

Advanced Structural Engineering Individual Project is a compulsory course for the programme MSc Advanced Structural Engineering. This course offers the student the opportunity to put acquired technical knowledge and skills into practice by delivering an independent project. The dissertation should contain a degree of original work.

Course Description

Individual Project provides the student the opportunity to put knowledge and skills into practice by conducting a research-driven project relevant to advanced structural engineering. The dissertation topic is of the student's choice. This course plays a key role in promoting the employability of graduates of the programme MSc Advanced Structural Engineering. It provides student with opportunity of conducting a research-driven project, preparing technical report, and the presentation of findings to audience with different background. All these qualities are highly appreciated by industry. Student is required to attend the regular meetings with the supervisor/supervisory team. The frequency and the duration of meetings depend on the nature of the project and the stage of progress, and will be decided by the supervisor/supervisory team. Students receive formative feedback during regular meetings with the project supervisors.
