This is the capstone course that utilises a challenging, complex and exhilarating computer simulation. It is designed to provide students with a critical understanding of the process of internationalisation and the ability to effectively analyse and interpret many of the decision-making processes relevant to international organisations and global strategy. It brings together all of your previously acquired knowledge and understanding to the task of developing a broader appreciation of the operational and strategic challenges facing international organisations operating in today’s rapidly changing and complex environment.
The simulation combines global logistics, marketing, human resource management and finance to create a competitive group scenario.

In this course, you are encouraged to bring all of your previously acquired knowledge and understanding to the task of further developing your appreciation of the challenges facing international organisations operating in today’s fast changing and complex environment. The lectures are designed to further develop your knowledge, understanding and ability to critically evaluate issues focussed around the key learning outcomes of the module; the lectures will highlight key topics and learning themes, which will be further developed and applied to the Global Challenge computer simulation game.
The course will be delivered in an interactive manner to encourage both formal and informal discussions. In addition to some formal presentation of information in lectures, there will time allocated to decision cycles in the Global Challenge simulation game. Students are encouraged to actively engage and participate in the discussion and evaluation of issues raised in lecture sessions and to fully participate in team decisions for the simulation game.
The study programme aims to provide an intellectually challenging academic programme of study, designed to develop your ability to analyse, synthesise and evaluate key theoretical concepts and practical applications for organisations operating in the international environment. Throughout this course, the aim will be to achieve a balance between practice and theory and students will be asked to critically evaluate the theories, concepts and examples that are presented.
