The Placement course focus on the development of industry-relevant professional and technical skills and competencies. It is designed to meet the needs of the biopharma, bioscience and biotechnology industries, and those of contract research organisations, as the demand for highly skilled graduates in these sectors grows.

The 60-credit placement is carried out over a 3-month period and focuses on the acquisition of the high-quality skills required for an industry-based career. Emphasis is placed on the skills and competencies in life science techniques and approaches that underpin service delivery and R&D developments, including an understanding of industry-standard operating procedures and quality control management. Students will be offered a range of placement opportunities including those based within a University technology service facility or laboratory or, depending on availability, within local SMEs or industry
