This course is intended for PGT students enrolled on the MLitt in Modern History, the MLitt in Medieval and Early Modern Studies, and the MLitt in Scandinavian Studies who do not find HI502K (Special Subject) suitable. With the agreement of the degree co-ordinator, the student may be enrolled on this course to pursue an agreed subject of sustained study with a member of staff. The student will be given an agreed reading list, will meet their supervisor regularly to discuss the reading, and will be assessed by means of an extended essay. The learning outcomes and assessment regime will be equivalent to HI502K.
This course aims to allow a student to do in-depth study in a specific area in History agreed upon with the course coordinator and is specifically designed to provide an opportunity for students to define and explore a short research topic that is not readily available in other taught modules.
Information on contact teaching time is available from the course guide.
