Course Overview

This course requires students to prepare a 12,000 word dissertation. By the end of the course students will have learned how to understand, synthesize and present data in an intelligent and intelligible fashion. Through guidance and supervision they will develop their academic writing skills in order to write and present an extended dissertation on a topic relevant to the course.

Course Description

During this course, students will develop and conduct their own research on a topic in Professional Communication using the methods, knowledge and understanding developed in the rest of the course. Students will prepare a 12, 000 word dissertation under supervision from a member of the linguistics staff, and they will be encouraged to develop, analyse and discuss their own data sets.
