Course Overview

To provide an insight into the legislative and the economics framework which shape UK, European and international energy provisions from conventional and
renewable sources. The course also aims to cover the fundamental safety issues which are important for all the renewable energy technologies.

Course Description

This course examines global energy supply and demand relation in the context of legislations involving climate change, energy transmission and sustainability issues. The course will inform students on how economics and safety may impact on the operation of the renewable energy industry.

Summative Assessments

Three hour witten examination (70%)

Essay (30%).

Resit: The re-sit will comprise of re-doing the failed element/s (exam and/or coursework assessment/s) from the 1st attempt with a maximum CGS mark of D3. The marks for other elements (successfully passed) will be carried over. Resit mark of either RP or RF will be recorded.
