Course Overview

The ability to identify, select, carry out and interpret a range of core psychological statistical methods is required to interpret research evidence and complete successful research in clinical psychology. This course enables you to develop a theoretical and practical understanding of key research methods and statistical techniques applied to clinically relevant data.

Course Description

Carrying out clinical research and interpreting research evidence are both important aspects of working in clinical psychology. This course provides students with the opportunity to further develop their statistical knowledge and skills using key statistical techniques applied to clinically relevant data. A combination of lectures and computer workshops will be used to enable students to confidently identify, select, implement and appraise key statistical methods.

Summative Assessments

1st attempt: Multiple Choice Exam (75%); Weekly worksheets (25%).

Resit: Similar to first attempt, with existing pass mark carried forward so that resit is only needed for failed element(s).
