This course provides an in-depth examination of real estate markets in Europe, North America, the Asia-Pacific and the transitional/developing world. The course begins with an introduction to trade theory and foreign investment before focusing on specific real estate markets and analyzing institutional differences between them and how these differences impact risk, costs and return on investment. The course includes in-depth field study in Europe in which students examine a specific real estate market and create an investment strategy designed specifically to the target market.

Examination of international real estate markets, focusing on Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and transitional/developing world. Field trip and project to examine a specific real estate market in depth.
Students go on a one week European field trip and will incur subsistence costs. The flights and hotel/breakfast are covered by the University. Their subsistence costs are for up to 6 days and expected as approximately £30.00 per day (but their choice)

1 two hour written examination (50%); continuous assessment (50%). The continuous assessment will comprise of : Group presentation (10%) Group report (20%) 5000 words Individual essay (20%) 1500 words
Resit: 100% on 1 x hour written examination.
