The health economics project is an independent piece of work undertaken by students which allow them to demonstrate in depth the skills and knowledge acquired on the MSc and apply these to a research question. Under expert supervision, each student independently and creatively identifies and formulates a research question which they address using appropriate methodology.

Students will identify and address an economics driven research question arising from their own work experience and/or their study of the material from the PGDip Programme in Health Economics (for professionals) using methods of enquiry drawn from their taught courses within the Programme. They will have two supervisors, usually one from the University of Aberdeen and one from their place of work (if they are in employment). Depending on the type of project undertaken (academic research or practice-based project), students will be guided to either submit a report or academic research publication.
