Course Description

Students will be introduced in seminars to the central themes in the history of Scotland and Ireland 1789-1914, using the class to compare shared themes and experiences, as well as to contrast differing experiences to illuminate the histories of the two nations. They will be introduced to central primary works. They will write an essay critically engaging with a common theme or event.
