Provides students with a technical working knowledge of the environmental legislation, management and mitigation in a global context;

In addition to lectures, practical classes, tutorials ad field trips there is an online moodle-based learning system that will be core to the learning experience. This will enable scientists with broad numerical skills to rapidly enhance their soecialisation within this discipline. The moodle-based learning system was developed for both university and CPD learning to enable users to make the use of genuine data in understanding the underlying concepts of this course. Each of the assessments are based upon genuine sites using data collated for this very purpose. Each of the stages of the training require integration with a set of models that are widely used internationally for the diagnosis and mitigation of contaminated land.

100% continuous assessment- composed of: 50%- testing and calibration of a set of relevant QRA models and 50% illustration of conceptual site model and remediation strategy for a defined scenario.
